NOUN admission requirements: how to apply

Step-by-step application procedure

1. Visit www.nouonline.nou.edu.ng.
2. On the home page menu bar, click "Apply for Admission".
3. Select either Undergraduate Programme or Postgraduate Programme — no other option is available.
4. Go to "Choose Faculty" (left-hand side of the screen) and select your faculty.
5. Fill the displayed form.
6. Click to view the admission criteria shown for your chosen programme.
7. Click "Apply" to proceed.
8. Note the Unique ID displayed on screen — you'll need it again.
9. Click "Continue".
10. Select Bank Branch as your payment type and click "Pay".
11. Copy the RRR (Remita Retrieval Reference) number and take it to any bank branch for payment.
12. After payment: repeat steps 1–3, then go to "Continue After Payment".
13. Enter your Unique ID, RRR number and programme.
14. Click "Proceed", fill the form (fields marked with a red star are compulsory), then "Submit".
15. Print your Admission Letter.
16. Visit the nearest study centre for screening.

What we could not confirm

NOUN's dedicated "Admission Requirements" page atnou.edu.ng/admission-requirements/loaded with a 200 status but zero content when we checked it on 14 September 2026 — no O'level subject combinations, no UTME/DE cut-off marks, nothing readable. The only working official content on eligibility is the application procedure above, which shows you where entry criteria are displayed (inside the application form itself, per programme) rather than listing them on a public page. We have not invented subject requirements or cut-off marks to fill that gap — if you need your specific programme's entry requirements, they appear once you select your faculty and programme inside the application form ("Click below to view admission criteria" is step 6 above), or you can call NOUN's information centre directly (see Contact below).

General entry routes

NOUN, like other Nigerian universities, generally admits through UTME (JAMB) for direct entry to 100 level, and Direct Entry (DE) for candidates with an OND, NCE, A-Levels or equivalent seeking advanced standing. Postgraduate admission requires a first degree (and transcript) in a related field. We have not found a NOUN-published page stating minimum UTME scores or specific O'level subject combinations per programme, so we are not stating figures we can't source — use the in-portal criteria display (step 6 above) for your exact programme.
